The Full Story
Ruthie and Peter met in 2005 when they were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. It was a little strange at first...Ruthie thought Peter looked like her dad, and Peter thought Ruthie looked like his brother with a long hair. We eventually got over this. Peter was (and still is) a commercial real estate broker and Ruthie, a teacher just finishing graduate school in special education. They were married in 2008 and had their first son, Campbell in June of 2010. Penelope (Pennie) came shortly after in February of 2012. They debated on having a third, and after a date night dinner complete with lists of things to talk about, they decided to go for it. Turns out there was a bigger plan because in November of 2016 Juniper (June) AND Arthur came into this world eight minutes apart. Our world was rocked when we jumped from two to four, but we're along for the ride (let's face it, there isn't another option) and though there have been some bumps, we are loving (almost) every minute of it.
Over the past decade we have slowly made the switch to organic food at home, started composting, used cloth diapers (at least for half of our kids), got chickens, and have become more conscious consumers in general as it has become more and more clear that there are rarely regulations in place to keep us safe and our environment thriving.
This is a little bit about that journey that we are still on and how we navigate it as a family of 6. We hope you find it thoughtful and at the very least slightly amusing.
